Seasons Change. A bunch of legendary players who have given all the sweet memories has hanged their boots recently. However, the retirement of Dhoni is still in debate for a while. Ever since CSK came out of ban and Donned the IPL 2018, We were happy that Dhoni is back to his peak of form. Though it has excited the fans, everyone believed that Dhoni is eyeing to grab the world cup one more time and he would hang his boots after a mighty performance in his the world cup.

Chennai Super Kings crushed each and every opponent until the final under the captaincy of Dhoni. Dhoni never failed to fire big whenever it is needed but CSK lost to Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2019 title. Indian fans were still happy with the overall performance of all the Indian players.
Team India was one of the favorites to win the world cup 2019 despite the speculations around No.4 batsman. Team India lived up to the expectation topping the point tables in the league games. Except for the poor performance against England, They proved to all the cricket fans why they are called the best in the business. The rain ruined the semifinal match cost India a dream of billions. MSD was severely criticized by senior players and fans. Even the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar express his distress over Dhoni's batting.
A Legend like Dhoni cannot be sidelined as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He stands as an excellent finisher in the lower-order batting lineup. He is a lightning-fast wicketkeeper, a keen observer of the Game. Kohli & Rohit can learn a lot about decision-making from him. (Is Dhoni the silent captain of Team India?)
Players like Gautham Gambir refer back to the old days where Dhoni does not want to play Gambir, Sehwag, and Sachin together in the Australian series. There are still a lot of players who think Dhoni has the extra mile to GO.
BCCI officials have stated that Dhoni won't be selected as the first choice wicket-keeper and they want to think about the upcoming T20 world cup. The expectation is to have Dhoni groom his replacement.
Though Dhoni has energy for a lot more laps between the 22 yards, The path seems too rough. Are we witnessing yet another Legend player sidelined and retire without a Grand Farewell match?
