Kodinhi, a small village in Kerala, Southern state of India has more than one thousand twins in a population of eleven thousand (9% of its population).

The female population who are married to outsiders(People not born in the village) are ending up giving birth to twins in most cases.

The reason for this is suspected to be pollutants in the water used by the villagers. However, there is no scientific evidence for the same.
