Will Robots rule the future?

We are very excited to use new technologies and gadgets but feel very insecure to see automation and robots take our jobs.

Impacts

The use of Industrial robots would definitely initiate job cuts. According to a survey, 73% of the workers who undergone the survey thought that they can scale up and fit into new roles. Back in 2015, the Bank of England estimated that up to 15 million jobs were at risk due to Automation and Robot usage.

Due to the influence of technology, Jobs like Drivers, postal workers, Publishers, printers, cashiers, and many more employees will lose their job in 10 years.



Robots @ Work

According to the International Federation of Robotics, Countries employing industrial robots are significantly increasing. As of 2016, the number of industrial per 10000 employees is 74 globally. South Korea topped the list with 631 robots per 10000 employees in 2016.

It's not just industrial robots. Right from All banking services to reduce bank staffs to Robotic vacuum cleaners that eliminates the burden of a maid, The need for a human at service is in question.

Robots as a service

   Most of you may know that Companies like Amazon, Google & Microsoft are offering Saas(Software as service), IaaS(Infrastructure as service) and you can avail of their service in pay per usage model(You pay for only resources you use). Robots as a service (RaaS) are trending in the market now. Medium and Large scale businesses will slowly start experimenting with this.

  The main reason for the small companies to hold investing in robotic service is the initial investment need to own and maintain these robots. RaaS will make these companies think about a change.

Are there Risks?

  Definitely, these automation will cut down a lot of traditional jobs but it will create a long of jobs for people who are eager to learn new skills.

What if the Artificial intelligence that we are developing, starts enhancing itself and prepare to be the dominant species of Earth?
