Karni mata Temple - The Rat temple
Karni Mata Temple, the famous Hindu temple is located at Deshnoke, in Rajasthan, India. It is also known as the Temple of Rats.
The temple is home for 20,000 black rats. These holy rats are called kabbas, and are treated with respects. There are white rats which are very special and are considered as the Karni mata herself.
The building was designed in the late Mughal style by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner.
