[Indian Architecture] Temple with Musical steps

Airavatesvara Temple built by Rajaraja Chola II located in Darasuram (a small town near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu state in southern India) has a special type of steps.

Yes. It is called the musical steps. A small stone rolled over the steps will play the "Sa re ga ma" (the classical carniatic music).

The temple is constructed as if the whole temple is a chariot encased in a lotus floating on a lake.

This has been restricted for public access but the temple management will help you with the steps upon request.
