Taj Mahal is the beautiful monument build by the Mughal emperor for his beloved wife Mumtaz mahal (The chose one) who died after giving birth to their 14th child.

Amazing Facts:
- Shah jahan loves spending time with Mumtaz. Even Mumtaz travelled with the king to war fronts. Shah Jahan has fasted for 8 days after the death of Mumtaz mahal. He did not wear any ornaments and he looked very older with grey hairs says the court chronicles.
- The base of Taj Mahal is built on a well foundation (referred to as open caissons) and it includes a foundation laid on top of stone columns built on a layer of rocks. This means the Taj Mahal stands on solid base which saves the world wonder from the impacts from river yamuna and earthquakes.
- There are some special optical tricks used in this architecture. The first vision of Taj Mahal is framed by its main gate. As you move closer, The Taj Mahal grows smaller. As you move outside of the main gate, The Taj Mahal grows bigger living a nice view of the building in your heart.
- The tomb inside the Taj Mahal is just an eye washer. The Real tomb of Mumtaz lies under the Taj Mahal in a secret passage.
- The four minarets are leaning slightly outwards for a couple of reasons. When you see Taj Mahal from long distance, The minarets looks upright and perfect. When earthquakes hits, the minarets will fall outwards causing no damage to the masterpiece.
- Shah Jahan also planned to construct another Taj where he will be buried. This would have been a replica of Taj Mahal with black marble. He want to make a connection between both this tombs. But his dream were scattered when his son Aurangzeb has imprisoned him. The base of black Taj Mahal can still be seen across the river Yamuna.
- There are no clear notes on engineers and craftsman who worked on the construction of Taj mahal. Some rumors around them says that shah jahan have chopped the hands of those who worked on the construction of Taj mahal to avoid another monument from being built.
