Does Microsoft have confusing strategy for future?
Microsoft the software giant who is ruling the each and every personal computer seems working hard to clean up their to-do task list. There was a time where you can term "Where there is a PC, there is a windows"
Thanks to smartphones and handy digital assets, that has given a new dimension to Technology but they have definitely given a hard time to Microsoft's PC business. As the convertible tablets have stolen a major share of Microsoft PC business, Microsoft acquisition of Nokia for $7.2 Billion is a proof that Microsoft want to successfully fit into the 6 inch devices.
However the Microsoft have laid off 7800 employees on it's smartphone sector globally. This is in addition to the 18000 jobs that are cut down last year.
"If anything, one big mistake we made in our past was to think of the PC (personal computer) as the hub for everything for all time to come. And today, of course, the high volume device is the six-inch phone. I acknowledge that. But to think that that's what the future is for all time to come would be to make the same mistake we made in the past without even having the share position of the past. So that would be madness," Mr Nadella said in an interview to technology news website ZDNet.
That gives us a confusing puzzle on what the company is trying to achieve. But this may be major step into future from the tech giant. Let's wait and watch.
